How do we build for scale?
We are experiencing tremendous growth in everything from page views to log volumes to our product catalog to the number cities we service. As we catch the tide of economies
at scale, we need to ensure everything we build is extensible, robust, performant, and scalable.
How do we take users from being comfortable to confident to excited about making high ticket size and high emotional quotient purchases in our
home decor domain?
We rely on innovation to solve every single e-commerce challenge – be it discovery, navigation, search, conversions, order tracking, or delivery in our context of high ticket size
and high emotional quotient segment.
How do we give users all the data they need, right at their fingertips?
We have deployed several in-house Android apps to gather real-time quality and availability statuses across our supply chain. We are looking at taking this to the next level using
GPS and RFID enabled tracking, and WMS innovations to build a fantastic order tracking system. Our final goal is real-time updates, from start to end.
How do we delight users with a coherent and consistent experience across social media platforms?
We are constantly striving to weave an integrated experience between our web and mobile apps, and social media platforms using social networking APIs and real time updates.
How do we empower every team member to work at a scorching pace and make real time data driven decisions?

Innovation is at the center of everything we do. That’s why our technology team is committed to spending time and effort working on path breaking innovations to to solve complex e-commerce problems. In July 2014, we set up ‘UL Labs’, a collaborative outreach effort where teams from Urban Ladder work with digital start-ups across the world to
come up with pioneering solutions in various aspects of furniture buying .
‘Urban Storage’, the first product from UL Labs is a world-class wardrobe configurator to make wardrobe shopping easier for customers. The app helps customers visualize different colours and finishes of
wardrobes, explore several internal configurations and dimensions, and check pricing relevant to their
configuration. It allows users to minimize their pains of going to a store to buy a wardrobe, and instead
lets them customize wardrobes to their liking from the comfort of their home.
Living Spaces is a unique initiative to tie in Urban Ladder’s long term vision of providing best in class
customer experience by integrating technology. The Living Spaces app lets users virtually place multiple options of UL sofas in their living space by using augmented reality. Users can place life size
models of UL sofas to visualize their entire living room and select multiple colour and seating options
without using any physical furniture.
