Care Instructions

Wooden Furniture

• To ensure the longevity of your wooden furniture, please avoid exposing the pieces to excessive sunlight, dampness, heat or cold.
• When placing table lamps on any wooden surface, such as desks, dressers, and sideboards, please use a felt or leather mat to protect your furniture from scratches. Alternatively, a table runner can be used.
• Clean the surface frequently with a cloth dampened with diluted cleaning polish. Spills or smudges can be wiped clean using a damp cloth dipped in mild soap or cleaning polish.
• Polish your furniture with silicone-free polish every six months. Please note that polishing too often could result in a waxy buildup. Furniture polish is easily available on online stores and in local hardware stores.
• Moisture can make veneer warp or bend. Therefore, please avoid exposing wooden furniture that’s been laminated with veneer to humidity changes.
• CAUTION: We advise against using furniture polish, chemical solvents and cleaners for our range of children’s furniture.

Upholstery - Fabric Sofas/Wing Chairs/Dining Chairs/Bean Bags

• To ensure the longevity of your upholstered furniture, we recommend professional cleaning once every six months.
• In case of spills, please dab at the spot gently with a clean cloth, sponge or paper towel moistened with a water/ detergent-based cleaner. (Please do not rub the spot vigorously, as this can work the stain further into the fabric).
• Vacuuming the upholstery once a month is good to keep dust and pet hair at bay. It also minimises odours.
• Pet hair can also be removed by wearing a pair of dampened rubber gloves, and running your hands over the upholstery. Alternatively, a damp sponge can be used.
• For sofas with removable cushion covers, we recommend dry cleaning.
• For canvas bean bags, please remove the bean filled bag and dry clean the outer cover.
• For denim bean bags, please dust it with a clean, dry brush regularly or clean it with a vacuum cleaner.

Leather & Leatherette Furniture

• Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can ruin leather and leatherette. Therefore, we recommend that you keep such furniture away from skylights, windows and other sources of intense light.
• If you use a heater or radiator at home, we suggest that you maintain a minimum distance of 12 inches between the heat source and your leather furniture. This will help prevent the drying and/or cracking of the leather upholstery.
• In case of spills, dab the spot gently with a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry. Please do not rub at the stain vigorously.
• Please dust your furniture often, wipe with a clean, moist cloth, and use a vacuum cleaner with a crevice nozzle to keep the crevices clean.

Wooden Sofas

• Clean the exposed wood surfaces frequently with a cloth dampened with diluted cleaning polish.

• In case of spills on the fabric upholstery, please dab at the spot gently with a clean cloth, sponge or paper towel moistened with a solvent-based cleaner  (milder the better). Please do not rub the spot vigorously, as this can work the stain further into the fabric.
• Vacuuming the upholstery once a month is good to keep dust and pet hair at bay. It also minimises odours.

Mirrors

• Keep your mirrors clean by wiping them with a soft micro-fibre cloth moistened with a glass cleaning solution.

Lamps

• Dusty bulbs can affect the quality of light. We recommend wiping them clean regularly.
• For fabric shades, please use a soft bristle brush and dust the shade in long sweeping motions. Use a handheld vacuum cleaner (or hair dryer on cool setting) with a crevice nozzle to clean dust from the trimming.
• For the plastic lining of the lampshade, wipe clean with a damp cloth.
• For paper lamp shades, simply dust the shade clean with a dry microfibre cloth.
• Wipe wooden lamp bases clean with a dry microfibre cloth. To restore shine, use a soft cloth moistened with a solvent-based furniture polish.
• For lamps with a glass base, wipe the base with a soft cloth dampened with glass cleaning solution. Buff with a dry cloth to restore shine.
• In case of a stainless steel lamp base, use a soft cloth dipped in warm water, and wipe down the base. Dry immediately using a soft towel.
• Clean ceiling lamps with a soft dry cloth to wipe any dust off of it.
• Brass lamps sometimes develop a patina from regular use, which adds to the character of the lamp. However, if you wish to restore the shine, we recommend using a solution of mild detergent and warm water to wipe the lamp clean. Then wipe with a dry, soft cloth, to remove any soap residue. Buff to restore shine.
• We advise against using brass polish as they tend to be abrasive and could scrub away delicate engravings.

Outdoor Furniture

• For wicker or rattan furniture, we recommend cleaning it regularly to avoid the buildup of dust and mildew.
• To remove dirt and debris from wicker and rattan, vacuum with a dust-brush attachment or use a dry paintbrush. Occasionally, clean with a mild soap solution. Avoid using too much water as it can weaken the fibres. Let dry completely.
• For wooden furniture, we recommend using coasters or mats while keeping anything hot, cold or wet on the surface.
• In case of spills, please wipe your wooden furniture dry with a soft cloth immediately to prevent staining.
• Clean your wooden outdoor furniture regularly with a clean, moist cloth. Please do not use any detergent or soap.
• We recommend a wax rub-down for solid-wood furniture every 6 months. Wood wax is easily available on online stores and in local hardware stores.
• Metal furniture can be cleaned using a mild soap solution and a soft sponge. Gently scrub your furniture with the soap solution, rinse, and dry with a soft towel immediately.
• To remove rust stains or mold, sand the area lightly using fine-grit sandpaper. Wipe it clean, and apply touch-up paint if required.
• Plastic furniture (all known as resin, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (PE) furniture) can be cleaned with a clean, soft sponge dipped in a mild soap solution. Gently scrub the furniture with the sponge, wipe down again with clean water, and dry with a soft towel. 

Outdoor Upholstery

• All our outdoor cushions are made of 100% polyester. This makes them water-repellant, so they're able to withstand light drizzles and accidental spills. However, to add to the longevity of your cushions, we recommend carrying them indoors in case of heavy rain. 
• Brush fabric upholstery and cushions regularly with a soft-bristled brush to avoid the buildup of dust.
• In case of spills, please dab at the spot gently with a clean cloth, sponge or paper towel moistened with a solvent-based cleaner (milder the better). Please do not rub the spot vigorously, as this can work the stain further into the fabric.
• Removable covers sometimes can be machine-washed in cold water, using a mild detergent, and then air-dried.

Engineered Wood Furniture

• Engineered wood includes furniture made of MDF, plywood, veneer, particleboard, etc
• For engineered wood furniture, we recommend wiping it clean with a clean, damp cloth regularly.
• Please use coasters or mats when placing anything hot, cold or wet on surfaces made of engineered wood.
• Wipe any spills and stains immediately with a clean, dry cloth.
• Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and temperature variations may cause the colour of engineered wood to fade.
• Moisture can make veneer laminates to warp or bend. Therefore, it is recommended that such furniture is not exposed to humidity changes.
